ON 13 JULY, 1801 MARK AND PERRY GANNON SOLD TO LUKE ANDREW A TRACT ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF NORTH FORK OF ALAMANCE OF HAW BRANCH ON PAISLEY'S LINE (GUILFORD COUNTY DEED BOOK 7, PAGE 395). Perry enlisted as a Private in the "Flying Camp" of the MD militia 31 Aug1776. The flying camp served with the militias of PA and DE until 1 Dec1776. Perry served in the Caroline Company under Capt. Joseph RICHARDSON,Eastern Shore Battalion under Col. Wm RICHARDSON. On 8 Sep 1776 thebattalion joined the rest of the army at Elizabeth, NJ. On 16 Sep Gen.Washington ordered an attack on 700 British soldiers at Harlem Heights.The men of the flying camp attacked with bayonettes and drove the enemyfrom their position. The MD men had a good reputation and impressed Gen.Washington. MD Archives.
Perry enlisted as a "regular" and a regimental history has him returningfrom some action on 13 Aug 1777. Perry served with in the 28th Battalion,Caroline Company under Capt. Vincent PRICE.
Perry was listed on the Mar 1778 census of Tuckahoe Hundred (now ChapelDist.), Caroline County, MD. Also listed in the Tuckahoe Hundred wasCharles GANNON.

1800 census, Perry is not listed in MD or NC.
Feb 1801, Perry purchased land in Guilford County, NC from Curtis Andrew.This land was part of a plantation where ANDREW lived on the AlamanceRiver. Curtis was his brother-in-law. Approved Aug court 1801, Deed book7, page 395.
13 Jul 1801, Perry and son Mark sold land to Luke ANDREW. This tract wason the south side of North Forks of Alamance of Haw Branch on PAISLEY'Sline, Guilford Co. Deed book 7, page 391.
Luke ANDREW was on the 1790 census Caroline Co., MD.
9 Aug 1802, Perry sold a tract to John ANDREW on the waters of theAlamance, Guilford Co. deed book 125, page 600..
