John Calvin Gannon 
John Calvin was born on January 18th, 1871 in Warren, TN. John Calvin's father was William Henry Gannon and his mother was Harriett Keel. His paternal grandparents were Samuel P Gannon and Sussanah C Stacy; his maternal grandfather is Richard "Richmond" Keele and his maternal grandmother was Louisa Jane HOOVER. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Samuel Richmond, William Henry, Benjeman, Mary Elizabeth and Louisa Jane. He was the second youngest of the six children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named James Horace, Ballo Lester, Margrett S, Harriet Tennessee and Fannie Frances. He died at the age of 90 on March 19th, 1961 in Charleston, Kanawha, WV. He was buried in March 1961 in Cunningham Cem., St.Albans, WV.General Notes
MEMBER OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST. MOVED TO CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA IN 1925; WHERE HE WENT TO WORK AT KELLY AXE COMPANY WHERE HIS SON JOHNNIE WORKED. IN FACT OLD MAN KELLY CONTACTED JOHN CALVIN AND TOLD HIM TO MOVE TO CHARLESTON AND HE WOULD GIVE HIM A JOB. JOHNNIE HAD TOLD OLD MAN KELLY ABOUT HIS FATHER BEING UNABLE TO GET WORK IN TENNESSEE. OLD MAN KELLY WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH HIS SONS' WORK. JOHNNIE DID NOT WANT HIS DAD MOVING TO CHARLESTON AND GOT MAD AND QUIT. BUT AFTER ABOUT A YEAR HE WENT BACK TO WORK FOR HIM.

HE WAS JOHN CALVIN GANNON, 90, OF 2113 ZABLE DRIVE, A RESIDENT OF CHARLESTON SINCE 1925.(THIS WAS A TWO STORY WHITE HOUSE WITH A BIG FRONT PORCH SET IN UNDER THE SECOND STORY. THE STREET IN FRONT OF IT IS VERY NARROW, TWO CARS WON'T FIT.)
MR. GANNON HAD BEEN ILL A YEAR. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST.
SURVIVING ARE TWO SONS, JOHN AND LESTER OF CHARLESTON; FIVE DAUGHTERS, MRS. MARY STACKS OF DETROIT, MRS. JEWEL COX OF DAYTON, OHIO, MRS. LILLY BELLE BIBBEE OF CHARLESTON RT. 1, MRS. EVANGELINE BAILEY AND MRS. ELLEN SANTEE OF CHARLESTON; ONE HALF BROTHER, LESTER AND ONE HALF SISTER, MRS. HARRIET SHIRLEY, OF McMINNVILLE, TENN.; 33 GRANDCHILDREN, AND 41 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.
SERVICES WILL BE HELD MONDAY AT 1 P.M. IN CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME BY THE REV. DELBERT ERNSTHAUSEN. BURIAL WILL BE IN CUNNINGHAM MEMORIAL PARK, ST. ALBANS.
THE BODY IS AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
