Roger was born on May 3rd, 1287 in Netherwood, Thornbury, Hereford.1   Roger's father was Edmund De Mortimer and his mother was Margaret De Fiennes.  His paternal grandparents were Roger De Mortimer and Maud (Matilda) De Braose; his maternal grandparents were William De Fiennes and Blanche De Brienne. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Hugh, Walter, Edmund, John, Isolde Or Iswolde, Maud, Maud (Matilda), Joan, Elizabeth and Margaret.  He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 43 on November 29th, 1330 in Hanged At Elms, Tyburn, Warwickshire.  He was buried in 1330 in Church Of Grey Friars, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.2 1 


Roger's family with Joan De Geneville

‌Roger and Joan were married in a religious ceremony on October 6th, 1305 in Shropshire, England.2   They had four sons and seven daughters, named Edmund, Roger, Geoffrey, John, Maud, Margaret, Catherine, Agnes, Joan, Blanche and Beatrice.
