John Nelson Yakes 
John Nelson was born in 1848.1 John Nelson's father was William Yakes and his mother was Margaret Minnie Thibadeau**. His paternal grandparents were Michael Yakes and Jane VanZandt; his maternal grandparents were Pierre Thibaudeau** and Margaret Middaugh. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Michael Wm., William F., Peter, Hannibal, Wesley, Arthur, Margaret Jane, Mary Ann, Catherine and Emeline. He was the oldest of the eleven children.
