His paternal grandparents were Pierre Laverdure and Priscilla Mallinson; his maternal grandparents were Phillippe Mius d'Entremont and Madeleine Hélie-DuTillet. He had a brother and two sisters, named Pierre, Isabelle and Jean Dominique. He was the oldest of the four children. He died on June 24th, 1744 in Grand Pre, Acadie, Canada.
