Marguerite was born in 1682 in Port Royal, Acadia, New France.1 Marguerite's father was Emmanuel Hebert and her mother was Andree' Brun. Her paternal grandparents were Etienne Hebert and Marie Gaudet; her maternal grandparents were Vincent Brun and Renee Brault. She had six brothers and a sister, named Guillaume, Jean, Jacques, Emmanuel, Alexandre, Martin and Catherine. She was the second oldest of the eight children.
