Carrie Elizabeth Manning 
Carrie Elizabeth was born on August 12th, 1894 in Pitt County, N. C. Carrie Elizabeth's father was Talbert M. Manning and her mother was Maniza Ellen James. Her paternal grandparents were William "Billy" Manning and Elizabeth "Betsy" Matthews; her maternal grandparents were William Alfred "W. A" James and Elisabeth "Betsy" Ann Highsmith. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Louis Henry, William Oscar, Benjamin Franklin, Lessie and Lucy Elizabeth. She was the youngest of the six children.-
