Godfrey "A La Barbe" was born about 1074 in Brabant,Louvaine,France.1   Godfrey "A La Barbe"'s father was Henri II, Comte de Louvain and his mother was Adele (Alix) of Thuringia Countess Beteau.  His paternal grandparents were Lambert II "Baudry" Louvain Count of and Oda Of Lorraine [Princess]; his maternal grandparents were Otto of Orlamunde and Adelaide Von Der Betuwe. He had two sisters named Alix de and Ida De.  He was the youngest of the three children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Henri III, Comte de, Godefroi I, Duc de and Ida de.  He died in ,,Jerusalem,Israel.  He was buried in Efflighem,,Ger.2
