"Henry Addison Teel was born near Hanover, Coosa County on April 17,
1888. His parents were Richard Columbus Teel and his wife, Amanda Belle
Darden. When he was six, his mother died (during the birth of his sister,
Lula). He obtained his first eight years of education at a private
boarding academy in Sylacauga. At age 16, after graduating from Goodwater
High School, he enrolled at the University of Alabama from which he
received an LL.B with Honors degree in 1906 and a BS with Honors degree
in 1909. After teaching school for three years at Uniontown, he enrolled
at Yale University from which he received a BBS degree Cumma sum laude in
1914. He then taught school one year at Enterprise and one year at
Rockford.
In July, 1916, he began a law practice at Rockford that he continued
until his death in 1953, with the exception of the period September,
1916, to November 1917, when he taught army personnel at Camp Wheeler
near Macon, Georgia.
From 1918 until 1922, Mr. Teel was Mayor of the town of Rockford.
From 1924 to 1936, he represented the 18th Judicial Circuit on the
Alabama Bar Commission. From 1930 to 1936, he was County Solicitor of
Coosa County, and was Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Rockford
public schools for 22 years. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a
member of the Rockford Baptist Church for 39 years, a member of its Board
of Deacons and a Sunday School teacher for 35 years.
In November, 1917, Mr. Teel married Beunie Lee Rudd of Panama City,
Flordia. She was a pianist at the Rockford Baptist Church for forty
years. She died in 1961.  They had three children: Harry R. Teel, born
January 16, 1919, Robert J. Teel, January 29, 1921, and Marion (Mrs.
Martin P.) Jones born October 15, 1932. Mr. Teel and his wife are buried
