James J. Spradley 
James J. was born on July 5th, 1852 in Lowndes Co., AL.1 James J.'s father was Samuel Spradley and his mother was Martha Thrower. His paternal grandparents were Bryant A. Spradley and Frances Payne. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William, Jefferson Davis, Samuel Thomas, Mary Elizabeth M., Martha Jane, Alabama Hawkins and Frances Malinda. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 70 on November 14th, 1922 in Patsburg, Crenshaw Co., AL.1 General Notes

" J. S. Spradley died at Patsburg last Monday night. He had lived at
Patsburg for a long time. He left surviving one daughter Mrs. Richardson
of Jacksonville, Fla. and several brothers and sisters. His remains were
buried at Live Oak cemetery on Tuesday." (1)
