Amelia Ann had been very healthy most of her life until she fell, from
which she never completely recoved. She had been living with her son
Warren in Rosenberg most of the last few years of her life. She was just
a little over four years when they came to Texas. She was not very heavy
and a little over 5' tall. B. Elmer Spradley visited a cousin, Emma
Frances Spradley Holliday in Montgomery, AL in 1955 and noted she looked
so much like Amelia Ann as if she were her identical twin.
Some time after her mother died, they moved in with her father for a
while at San Gabriel. In 1904 they bought a farm in the fork of the San
Gabriel River and Bushy Creek where they lived about four years and in
1908 they bought a farm near Gardnera bit north of the Watson Branch
Schoolhouse where they lived the rest of their life until Uncle Jim died.
All the younger children attended this school.
After her husband died she lived with her children. In 1950 she was
living with her daughter, Ruth Simmons in Lexington, TX. Then she lived
several years with daughter, Ruby Guthrie in Austin.
Amelia was named after her Mother's sister Amelia Ann Todd.
