James Raby Spradley 
James Raby was born on March 6th, 1882 in Gardner, Milam Co., TX.1 James Raby's father was Bryant Eugene Spradley and his mother was Emmaline Todd. His paternal grandparents were Bryant A. Spradley and Frances Payne; his maternal grandparents were Willoughby Eugene Todd and Eliza Elizabeth Bogan. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Willoughby Eugene, George Wesley, John Ernest, Robert Lee, Chester Dee, Amelia Ann and Anna Lou. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He had a half-brother named Augustave Davis. He died at the age of 83 on March 26th, 1965 in Burnet, Burnet Co., TX. He was buried in Burnet Cemetery, Burnet, Burnet Co., TX.1 1 General Notes

They lived on the farm until some time after his wife died before he sold
out and built a new house in Burnet where he lived until he died. He
willed all of their estate to a nephew of his wife who was some what
handicapped. I was given his 25 year masonic pen, and all the Spradley
family snapshots and photographs. He had given me the family record pages
from his father's family Bible many years ago when I started compiling
the family record. B. Spradley
James was known as "Jim." He was buried March 28, 1965 in Burnet
Cemetery, Burnet Co., TX. He was a member of the Baptist Church and of
Masonic Lodge #431 in Burnet Co., TX. He once was Postmaster in Burnet.
His family lived on a farm until after his wife died then he sold the
farm and built a new house in Burnet. He willed his estate to a nephew
of his wife. James' 25-year Masonic pen, all his family photos, and his
family Bible pages were given to B. Elmer Spradley.
