Gappa Malachi was born on February 16th, 1868 in Coffee Co., AL.1 Gappa Malachi's father was Francis Marion Rushing and his mother was Frances Virginia Yelverton. His paternal grandparents were Malachi Rushing and Telitha Dykes; his maternal grandparents were Gappa Talmadge Yelverton and Martha Brown Simmons. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William F. McDonald, John Burrell, Francis Marion, Jr., Martha Alabama, Frances Miriam, Delia and Minneola. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died in Nevada, TX.1 General Notes
