Frances Miriam Rushing 
Frances Miriam was born on September 26th, 1871 in Coffee Co., AL.1 Frances Miriam's father was Francis Marion Rushing and her mother was Frances Virginia Yelverton. Her paternal grandparents were Malachi Rushing and Telitha Dykes; her maternal grandparents were Gappa Talmadge Yelverton and Martha Brown Simmons. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William F. McDonald, John Burrell, Gappa Malachi, Francis Marion, Jr., Martha Alabama, Delia and Minneola. She was the fourth youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 87 on July 22nd, 1959 in Coffee Co., AL. She was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Elba, Coffee Co., AL.1 1 General Notes

spent much of his childhood with his "Granny" and "Grandaddy" Ham:
"Miss Bonnie" was a very sweet, intelligent lady who daily solved the
crossword puzzle and cryptoquote in the newspaper. She was an excellent
pianist who loved her family, her husband, and her Persian cats. She was
healthy and very alert in 1954 at age 82 when she fell and broke her hip
while pruning the roses in her rose garden. She underwent an operation
and a steel pin was inserted to fasten the break but she never walked
again and shortly thereafter suffered a stroke. She lay in bed helpless,
unable even to talk, for five years until she passed away at age 87 in
1959. To this day I have never loved anyone as I loved her. Rick
