Juanita didn't graduate from high school.  About six weeks before
graduation, the principle accused her of playing hookey.  She was so
upset at the untrue accusations that she wouldn't go back to school and
graduate.   Perhaps it is this determination that has enabled her to live
such a long life.  She is still living in September 6, 2002 and was 96
years old on her last birthday.
Juanita remembers as a young girl riding in a covered wagon.  Several
years they would follow the cotton harvest north to the Texas border in a
covered wagon.  They grew up around Royston, Northeast of Roby.  Before
she married, the family moved to Littlefield, Texas.  She came back to
Fisher County when she married Tack and they lived with his mother and
Tack's brother, Lotus,  in a house on a corner in North Roby.  They later
built a two room house on a lot in Roby; that house is still standing in
2002. As the family grew, the house grew and now has three bedrooms,
living room, dining room, kitchen and bath.  At one time, there were lots
of fruit and shade trees.  The draughts have just about killed out all of
the trees.
Juanita remembers that Tom Parker, her brother, was biten by a snake
as he was going through the gate to the farm.  This was shortly after he
married.  He was very ill but recovered from the snake bite.
Juanita remembers going to Eastland with her granddaddy Parker to
Eastland several times after his wife died.
After the death of Tack Nail, Juanita married Lee Moore who had
served as a pall bearer for her previous husband, Radney's, funeral.
Billy Ray's children dearly  loved "Granddaddy Lee".  He would take them
to the barn to play with the kittens and animals. Penny remembers riding
on the horse, Princess, and going to the goldfish pond.  Granddaddy Lee
would let them watch him wash his false teeth and he always had
Lifesavers candy in wintergreen flavor in his pocket.
