Will Parker was a barber and served as Justice of Peace at Royston,
Texas. Later he quit barbering and became a carpenter. When he lived in
Littlefield, he had a cellar with wood-lined walls and built-in beds.
Billy R. (Buddy) relates this story about his grandfather. "William
Parker saved coins in jars and glass milk jars. He hid them behind the
wooden, cellar walls and would show them to the grandchildren when they
used to play in the cellar."
William is remembered as having beautiful penmanship. One of his favorite
cakes was a "Ben's Cake". He always asked his daughter, Juanita, to make
him one at Christmas.
William's mother died when he was very young and his father re-married.
