John Thomas was born on March 3rd, 1847 in ?.1 John Thomas' father was Alexander D. McEwen and his mother was Rhoda Payne. His paternal grandparents were James Hill McEwen and Martha Ann Snead. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Alexander Hamilton Stevens, William Franklin, Mary Melvina and Nancy Caroline. He was the third oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named James Pollard, Louisa Antoinette, Martha Elizabeth and Sarah Jane. He died at the age of 32 on July 29th, 1879 in ?.1 General Notes
