James Duell Grimes 
James Duell was born on May 17th, 1909 in Coffee County, Alabama.1 James Duell's father was James Robert Grimes and his mother was Minnie Florence Watkins. His paternal grandparents were James Shorter Grimes and Malissa Tillis; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Watkins and Mary Finlayson. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Oris Thomas, Eugene Wilson, Ferrin Hugh, Malissa Florence, Mary Myrtle, Blanche Gertrude, Lillian Leona and Eva Wilson. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 61 on December 9th, 1970 in Bowling Green, Hardee County, Florida.
