William Walter Garrett 
William Walter was born on July 7th, 1802 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.1 William Walter's father was Robert* Jackson, Sr. Garrett and his mother was Mary* Ann Clackler. His paternal grandparents were John* Garrett and Frances* "Fanny" Callihan; his maternal grandparents were John* Clackler and Mary* Fudge. He had six brothers and five sisters, named John Mason, Thomas B, Sr, Overstreet Wiley, Robert* Jackson, Jr., James C., Joshua English, Elizabeth Ann, Sophronia "Sophia", Francis Ann, Sarah Annie and Julia Ann. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 85 on July 7th, 1887 in Crestview, Okaloosa County, Florida. William moved from his birthplace, South Carolina to Montgomery County,
Alabama and between 1832 and 1836 to Elba, Coffee County, Alabama and
later to Okaloosa County, Florida (then Walton County).
The 1850 Census showed that William lived 4 households on one side of his
father, Robert and brother James lived just 2 houses on the other side.
Robert and Overstreet lived just a little further away, but in the same
area.

T5, & R19 to Talbert H. Franklin for $500.00. William & Nancy both signed
