Newton Jasper Garrett 
Newton Jasper was born on May 3rd, 1817 in Talladega County, Alabama.1 Newton Jasper's father was Jonathan Garrett and his mother was Jane Higgins. His paternal grandparents were John Garrett and Sallie Mauldin. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Elijah, Elijah, William Mansel, John William, Sally, Jannetty, Polly and Elizabeth. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 37 on August 6th, 1854 in Grovespring, Wright County, Missouri.1 -
