Laney Monroe Garrett 
Laney Monroe was born on May 10th, 1908.1 Laney Monroe's father was John Street Garrett and his mother was Dora Jane Ray. His paternal grandparents were James Monroe Garrett and Mary Elizabeth Haynes; his maternal grandmother was Nancy C. Ray. He had six brothers and two sisters, named John Leamon, Lonie D., Willie Leon, J. D., Clarence Bervie, Charles Calvin, Clara Mae and Katie Lou. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 35 on March 21st, 1944. He was buried in Ray Cemetery, DeFuniak Springs, Walton County, Florida.1 1 -
