Clarence Bervie was born on March 31st, 1924.1 Clarence Bervie's father was John Street Garrett and his mother was Dora Jane Ray. His paternal grandparents were James Monroe Garrett and Mary Elizabeth Haynes; his maternal grandmother was Nancy C. Ray. He had six brothers and two sisters, named John Leamon, Laney Monroe, Lonie D., Willie Leon, J. D., Charles Calvin, Clara Mae and Katie Lou. He was the second youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 50 on December 19th, 1974. He was buried in Friendship Baptist Cemetery, Deuniak Springs, Walton County, Florida.1 1 -
