J. Walter Garrett 
J. Walter was born on February 14th, 1881 in Okaloosa County, Florida.1 J. Walter's father was William Thorton Garrett and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Bush. His paternal grandparents were John Sheridan Garrett and Rebecca Jane Fowler; his maternal grandparents were Hiram Bush and Sarah Bush. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Prescott, John, William Henry, Thomas Leroy, Daniel Lafayette, Wiley Jackson, Hiram Thornton, Sarah, Mary Nancy, Rebecca and Ola G.. He was the fourth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 78 in 1959 in Bonifay, Holmes County, Florida. He was buried in Bonifay Cemetery, Holmes County, Florida.1 1 -
