Daniel Lafayette was born on March 7th, 1885 in Milligan, Walton County, Florida.1 Daniel Lafayette's father was William Thorton Garrett and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Bush. His paternal grandparents were John Sheridan Garrett and Rebecca Jane Fowler; his maternal grandparents were Hiram Bush and Sarah Bush. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Prescott, John, William Henry, J. Walter, Thomas Leroy, Wiley Jackson, Hiram Thornton, Sarah, Mary Nancy, Rebecca and Ola G.. He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 87 on September 15th, 1972 in Milligan, Okaloosa County, Florida.
