Floyd Devoe was born on September 12th, 1910 in Laurel Hill, Walton County, Florida.1 Floyd Devoe's father was William Jason Davis and his mother was Eliza Ida F. Cutts. His paternal grandparents were James Monroe Davis and Sarah Caroline Steele. He had four brothers and a sister, named Clarence, Harley Lance, Albert Clanton, Ellis Lowell and Benrice. He was the youngest of the six children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Leon Eugene, Edward, Clinton, Wilma Geraldine and Ina Ma.-
