William Larry was born in 1797 in Bertie Co., NC.1 William Larry's father was James C. Castellaw and his mother was Elizabeth Cobb. His paternal grandparents were John Castellaw and Martha Sarah Butler; his maternal grandparents were Edward Cobb and Elizabeth Collins. He had four brothers and a sister, named Starkey, James C., Jr., Turner, Aquilla and Margaret. He was the third oldest of the six children. his family in the 1860 Federal Census for Windor Post Office, Bertie Co.
