William Larry was born on October 21st, 1824 in Bertie Co., NC.1 William Larry's father was William Larry Castellaw and his mother was Sally Castellaw. His paternal grandparents were James C. Castellaw and Elizabeth Cobb; his maternal grandparents were William Castellaw and Sarah Mitchell. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Larry, Starkey, James Turner, John Downing, Elizabeth, Drucilla, Sally Frances, Martha Ann, Cealy, Adaline and Penelope Ritta.
