Marthena Jane was born in 1827 in Bertie Co., NC.1 Marthena Jane's father was Starkey Castellaw and her mother was Dicey Hoggard. Her paternal grandparents were James C. Castellaw and Elizabeth Cobb; her maternal grandparents were Elisha Hoggard and Amelia White. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named Larry, Redden Haywood, Mary, Happy Jane, Christian, Harriet, Barbry E., Caroline and Amelia Elizabeth. She was the third oldest of the ten children. She died after 1880 in ?.1 -
