William Stanley 
William was born in 1424 in Lancaster, Hornby, England. William's father was Thomas De Stanley Baron Stanley and his mother was Jane De Goushill. His paternal grandparents were John De Stanley and Isabel De Lathom; his maternal grandparents were Robert De Goushill and Elizabeth FitzAlan. He had a brother and three sisters, named Thomas Stanley Earl of, Elizabeth, Margaret and Catherine. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died in Holt Castle, Cheshire, England.General Notes
William Stanley of Holt and Ridley was 2nd son and brother of Thomas, the 1st Earl of Derby. He was beheaded in 1495, as supposed to encline to the part of Perkin Warbeck, whose lands and goods were confiscated to the King. He had, in ready money and plate, in his Castle of Holt 40,000 marks, besides jewels, household goods and stock. He had in lands 3,000 รบ per annum. He married Joyce, daughter of Edward Cherlton, Lord Powis, and his wife Alianore; daughter of Thomas Holland and Alice Fitz-Alan; son of Thomas Holland, Original Knight of the Garter, and his wife, Joan Plantagenet, Fair Maid of Kent; daughter of Edmund of Woodstock and Margaret, heiress of her brother, Thomas Wake; son of Edward I, King of England, and his 2nd wife Margaret, daughter of the King of France.
