Eleanor was born in 1303 in Grismond Castle, Monmouthshire, England. Eleanor's father was Henry III Earl of Lancaster & Leicester and her mother was Maud De Chaworth. Her paternal grandparents were Edward I "Longshanks" King of England and Blanche of Artoise; her maternal grandparents were Patrick De Chaworth Lord of Ogmore and Kidwelly and Isabel De Beauchamp. She had a brother and five sisters, named Henry Grosment Plantagenet I Earl of, Blanche, Mary, Isabel, Joan and Maud. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She died in Arundel, Sussex, England. She was buried in Lewes Priory.-
