Christian Theodore's father was August Carl Jacob and his mother was Elisabeth Hohl. His paternal grandparents were William Jacob and Katherine; his maternal grandparents were John Nicholas Hohl and Anna Marie Frueh. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named John Alfred, Carl August Jr, Frederick Louis, George William, Henry Albert, Herman Hugo, Oscar Benjamin, Peter Ernest, Amelia Ruth, Catherine Anna, Freda Elizabeth and Martha Barbara.-
