William Philhower

William was born in 1772 in Mountainville, Hunterdon, NJ.  William's father was Philip Philhower and his mother was Anna Maria Margaretha "Mary" Muller.  His paternal grandfather was Jurg Philip Wulhauer. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Christopher, John, Peter, Elizabeth, Anna Catherine, Mary (Polly), Charity Anna Gertrude and Catherine Ann.  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.
