John Roper 
John was born about March 21st, 1802 in Marion Co, SC (Changed to Dillon Co. later).1 John's father was John Roper and his mother was Martha Capel. His paternal grandparents were Richard Roper and 1St Wife Unknown; his maternal grandparents were William Capel and Anne Unknown. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Frederick S, Richard Thomas, William C, James F, Nancy S, Elizabeth C, Martha, Mary Mason and Sara K.
