William Lewis Pollitt 
William Lewis was born on March 4th, 1858 in , Fulton County, Illinois.1 William Lewis' father was Alexander H. Pollitt and his mother was Mary Elizabeth Estes. His paternal grandfather was James Pollitt; his maternal grandparents were Lewis Estes and Anna Farris. He had three brothers and four sisters, named George Calvin, John A., Robert J., Mary Ann, Sarah Ellen, Emma Caroline and Alice America. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 70 on July 9th, 1928 in , Mills County, Iowa.1 -
