Ruthea Maples

Ruthea was born in 1770 in Pitts. Co., Virginia.¹   Ruthea's father was Josiah Maples and her mother was Ruthea Sweeney.  Her paternal grandfather was William Maples; her maternal grandparents were Moses SR. Sweeney and Ann (Sweeney). She had ten brothers and two sisters, named James, Ephraim, Josiah Jr., William Cordra, Peter C., Moses, Elijah, Jesse, Thomas, John W.?, Nancy and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the thirteen children.
