Elizabeth Maples

Elizabeth was born in 1775 in Pitts. Co., Virginia.¹   Elizabeth's father was Josiah Maples and her mother was Ruthea Sweeney.  Her paternal grandfather was William Maples; her maternal grandparents were Moses SR. Sweeney and Ann (Sweeney). She had ten brothers and two sisters, named James, Ephraim, Josiah Jr., William Cordra, Peter C., Moses, Elijah, Jesse, Thomas, John W.?, Nancy and Ruthea.  She was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children.
