Sarah Shanks 
Sarah was born in 1859 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Sarah's father was John S. Shanks and her mother was Nancy. Her paternal grandfather was John Shanks. She had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Jacob, James, Henry, George, Susan, Jane and Emeline. She was the youngest of the nine children.
