Jane Shanks 
Jane was born in 1846 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Jane's father was John S. Shanks and her mother was Nancy. Her paternal grandfather was John Shanks. She had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Jacob, James, Henry, George, Susan, Emeline and Sarah. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
