Josiah Self

Josiah was born in 1815 in Gap Creek, Greene, Tennessee.¹   Josiah's father was Jesse Self and his mother was Agnes Dobson.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Self and Elizabeth; his maternal grandfather was John Dobson. He had five brothers and a sister, named Elijah R., Robert D., Lewis, Joseph, Reese V. and Lucinda.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.
