Jacob Hicks

Jacob was born in 1842 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹   Jacob's father was Reuben Hicks and his mother was Mary Mottern.  His paternal grandparents were Isaac Hicks and Mary. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Henry Jack, William Cate, John Elbert, Sarah, Mary Ann and Melissa E..  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
