Martha Ellen Hale 
Martha Ellen was born on January 16th, 1843 in Stoney Point, Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Martha Ellen's father was Philip Smith Hale and her mother was Elizabeth Bachman. Her paternal grandparents were Philip Heale and Catherine Douglas; her maternal grandparents were Nathan Bachman and Ann Peoples. She had three brothers and nine sisters, named Nathan Bachman, Philip Smith, William Douglas, Catherine Ann, Eliza Jane, Julia Ann, Sarah Amanda, Matilda Antoinette, Mary Bachman, Frances Louisa, Adelaide and Cornelia Josephine. She was the youngest of the thirteen children. She died at the age of 41 in 1884 in Church Hill, Hawkins, Tennessee.1 -
