Josiah Combest 
Josiah was born on November 17th, 1865 in Russell County, Kentucky.1 Josiah's father was John Wiley Combest and his mother was Susan E. Gosser. His paternal grandparents were Wiley Combest and Sarah Hammond; his maternal grandparents were George Washington Gosser and Jamina Roy. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Brown, Lewis, Sarah Jane, Pharoba, Jemina and Leona. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 58 on November 17th, 1923 in Valdasta, Texas.1 General Notes

Josiah "Joe" Combest was a farmer and owned much land. He died 17
November, 1923, Valdasta, Texas. They are both buried at Coleman
Cemetery, Valdasta, Texas. The family can be found recorded in the 1900
Collin County, Texas census, E.D. 22, p. 7 and in the 1910 Census, E.D.
29, p. 2. A cousin, Archie Combest, is also recorded as living with the
family in the 1910 census, born August 1865, age 34, birthplace Kentucky.
