Daniel COFFELT 
Daniel was born about 1772 in VA . Daniel 's father was Johann Philipp KAUFELDT and his mother was Eleanor E. "Nelly" RYAN . His paternal grandparents were Johann Nicklas KAUFFELT and Anna Maria GRUNDT; his maternal grandparents were Edward RYAN and Susannah SYMMONDS. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Henry , John , James Henry , George , Jacob , Sarah, Rebecca, Barbara and Sarah . He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died on February 15th, 1853 in Marion Co., TN.General Notes

Shenandoah County, VA records clearly prove that Daniel, who married Gertrude (Gertraut) in VA in 1789, was oldest son of Elias Coffelt- Elias and Gertrude are named on a 1793 deed in which he sells the land inherited from his father, Elias. Daniel is still listed in the 1810 census of Shenandoah County, VA.
This Daniel is confused with the son of Phillip, Daniel, who moved to Marion Co. TN and died there abt 1853. Daniel son of Elias remained in Shenandoah Co. and died there in 1778 and his will is on file in Shenandoah Co., VA.
