Barbara was born about 1780 in VA. Barbara 's father was Johann Philipp KAUFELDT and her mother was Eleanor E. "Nelly" RYAN . Her paternal grandparents were Johann Nicklas KAUFFELT and Anna Maria GRUNDT; her maternal grandparents were Edward RYAN and Susannah SYMMONDS. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Henry , John , Daniel , James Henry , George , Jacob , Sarah, Rebecca and Sarah . She was the third youngest of the ten children.-
