Reuben was born about 1792 in Stokes Co, NC.1   Reuben's father was Joshua Grinder and his mother was Catherine Green.  His paternal grandparents were John Grinder and Mary ?. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Mathias, John, Susan and Catherine. He had four half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Robert, James, Joshua, Nicholas, Parthenia, Winny, Sally, Mahuldah and Barbara S..  He died in Wayne Co, TN.1
