James M. Garrett 
James M. was born on April 20th, 1859 in ,,N.C.. James M.'s father was John Garrett and his mother was Mary Elizabeth (Polly) Osborn. His paternal grandparents were William Garrett and Jane Stroud; his maternal grandparents were James Osborn and Ann Johnson. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Jasper Newton, Isaac Henry, John D., William Jordan, Lucius Leander, M. Johnson, Louisa A., Margaret A., Martha J., Nancy Adaline and Mary Melinda (Linda). He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 30 on November 9th, 1889 in ,Towns co., Georgia. He was buried in Garrett Cemetery, Towns co., Georgia.General Notes
This death record may be wrong, it was taken from Garrett family bible,
but Family Tree Maker says His death date was 20 Nov 1889. he
evidentaly married, in the 1880 census Towns Co. Georgia he has a wife
but no children, heis the father of thr orphaned boys Fred & William
Garrett.
