Mary Elizabeth (Polly) was born on January 30th, 1830 in ,Henderson Co., N. C.. Mary Elizabeth (Polly)'s father was James Osborn and her mother was Ann Johnson. Her paternal grandparents were Jerimiah Jr. Osborn and Ann Blythe; her maternal grandparents were James Johnson and Ann Cole. She was an only child. She died at the age of 76 on December 24th, 1906 in ,Crowell Co., Texas.General Notes
Pollie was a mid wife, her grandson Roy Garrett told of his dad Lucius
telling of Polly riding 7 or 8 miles on horseback in the middle of the
night to deliver a baby. In the 1880 census Polly is a widow and has
Nancy 15, Jordan 12, Lucius 12, Melinda 9 and Johnson 6 living with her.
Polly's mother Ann Johnson was the daughter of a Rev. soldier named
James Johnson, died Henderson Co. N.C. 185?,
