John Strange Hancock 
John Strange was born on October 30th, 1831 in Harrison County, Indiana. John Strange's father was Samuel Hancock and his mother was Francis Anna Avery. His paternal grandparents were John Hancock and Jane Skeen. He had three brothers and four sisters, named James B., George A., Samuel Wesley, Sarah, Nancy Jane, Mary A. and Catharine. He was the third youngest of the eight children.-
