Phebe was born on April 21st, 1848 in Cortland, DeKalb, IL.1 Phebe's father was David Wood and her mother was Ruth Ann Cary. Her paternal grandparents were John Wood and Phebe Bradford; her maternal grandparents were Ephraim Cary and Matilda Gandy. She had a brother and five sisters, named John, Matilda Jane, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Rhoda Sovina and Malinda Elizabeth. She was the third oldest of the seven children. She died in Sycamore, DeKalb, IL. She was buried in Ohio Grove Cemetery, Cortland, IL.1 1 -
