Philip was born on August 1st, 1721 in Back Neck, Cumberland, NJ.1 Philip's father was David Sheppard and his mother was Sarah Unknown. His paternal grandfather was John Sheppard. He was an only child. He died at the age of 75 on January 5th, 1797 in Back Neck, Cumberland, NJ.1
